Hot Shoeing
What is it?

Hot shoeing is a process where a farrier heats a metal shoe and then attaches it to a horse's hoof. The process is also known as hot fitting or hot setting

Why is it necessary?

Hot shoeing ensures a seamless fit between the hoof and the shoe, promoting comfort and durability. The high heat used during hot shoeing can eliminate fungi and bacteria, helping to prevent hoof-related infections and issues. By sealing the horn tubules in the hoof wall, hot shoeing protects against excessive moisture absorption, maintaining the hoof's integrity and health.
